The Weather So Far

It's -13 right now (-20 if you include wind chill) so my little dog will just have to keep fussing at me. It's just too cold for her to be going outside. Being a Pomeranian, she does not agree. My little Chihuahua, otoh, is burrowed under a heavy throw and has zero interest in going outside for any reason. Even with the furnace at 70, the house is still cool. *sighs* I hate to think what my gas bill is going to be. ::shudders::

Oh, Sam, that is bloody cold! Poor you and the furkids. Surely it can't last much longer. What is the forecast?

Oh yeah! I'm NOT looking forward to opening my utility bill. But I'd rather pay the damned thing than be without heat... Here's hoping the second half of February is kinder to both of us.

My house was like that last year when we had minus 22 centigrade during the winter. I could not get warm at all. My dog and I cuddled up together; I wore layers of clothing and she was wrapped in blankets. We also had the heating on full blast and the gas cooker rings lit just to heat the house. You have all my sympathy - it is hard going when the weather is so cold. Do you have an electric blanket? Mine reduced the coldness of the bed, although we still shivered. I also bought a fleecy night cap which really helped to ward off cold related headaches. My kids laughed at me for having it but their places were much warmer than my house.
