Is this up-to-date? I'm asking because these days, when you give CPR to humans, you're supposed to do a lot more compressions per breath of air (15), and in fact [as the compressions will automatically cause low pressure in the lungs (-> drawing in air) and some oxygen will be left in the system anyway] you can leave out the "giving breath" part altogether if you're uncertain or if you might endanger yourself (e.g. if the unconscious, non-breathing person has just severely vomited, if you aren't certain that they aren't carrying severe diseases, etc.). I'm sure giving mouth-to-mouth/mouth-to-nose to a dog or cat would be among the "endangering oneself" cases? They're also failing to tell you the rhythm in which you're supposed to give the compressions. In humans, you have to be pretty quick (we learned to give them in time to the BeeGee's "Stayin' Alive", which works nicely as a reminder ;)). So it would be sorta useful if they told you how many breaths (if any)/compressions per minute are necessary for CPR to be effective at all. Oh, and of course... call professional help BEFORE you start. That way, you have a chance of the vet (possibly with crash cart?) arriving BEFORE those 20 minutes are over :P
So yeah... looking sort of dated, or incomplete at any rate.
