100 Things Blogging Challenge

For my 'choice': 100 Things (of Mine) That Are Missing, Lost or Stolen.
3. Today's subject is a lost book (actually, the first of several posts on lost books.)
When I was about 8 or 9, I was given some of the very best of the best "high fantasy" books *ever*: "The Hobbit", "The Lord of the Rings", all of the 'Narnia' books in their own little special box and a book called "Shadow Castle" by Marian Cockrell.
I know that I had "Shadow Castle" for a very long time but now it is missing. My SBS copy was very distinctive -- it was printed with *green* ink and cream-colored paper -- which is far from typical, so it must have been published in the 1960's. When, where -- no idea.
Now Tolkien and Lewis' books are easily found -- but not Ms. Cockrell's book. For some reason, it's not currently in print (or at least not carried in my local bookstores) but there is a new expanded edition with extra chapters that is available online. So I imagine I will get the "new" version and love it just as much -- but darn it, I still want my old copy that I read when I was a kid!
