~*~*~

This fic is a personal favorite of mine and it is also one of the first Legolas mpregs that I read upon ‘rediscovering’ this fandom. It is the second part of the ‘Anestel’ series, taking place directly after ‘Anestel’ and ending just prior to ‘Fael Amrûn’.

This a dark and grim universe where Imladris and Mirkwood have been locked in bitter, acrimonious feuding since the end of the Last Alliance, and the other Elven realms have considerable difficulty in remaining neutral. There is a definite sense of superiority on the side of the Noldor toward the Sindar and Silvans, though it appears that the Sindar and Silvans look down on the Noldor in much the same way and probably for many of the same reasons.

Glorfindel is slowly trying to rectify the great wrong that he has done to Legolas but he still has a tendency to see and think of the young prince as more of rare and expensive pet rather than a person to cherish, love and marry despite the birth of their son Gîlríon.
Further complicating matters is the fact that Legolas' mere presence is barely tolerated by the other residents of Imladris, despite being under Glorfindel's protection, while his relationship with Glorfindel can best be described as volatile.

It is not until Glorfindel takes Legolas and their son on a journey to Lothlorien for an extended stay that their relationship begins to improve and stabilizes, eventually culminating in a formal engagement between them. The engagement party also leads to the Lord and Lady acknowledging Legolas as family.

At long last, the future is beginning to look brighter.

I reviewed this too. :) I miss Esteliel, and still love the series as much now as I did when I first read it.

I loved this story arc when I first read it, following Spiced's links from her own marvelous arc. It's the best thing about this fandom - peiple recommend stories/websites ehich lead to more and evermore. Esteliel's marvelous relationship, her understanding of the characters, and her incomparable writing style hooked me immediately and I have never wanted to escape her line.

I love it when people recommend other stories and websites. That's one of the best things about fandom. Esteliel has done such a wonderful job with 'Anestel' -- everything just works perfectly. I hope that she will return and continue it one day.

I do hope that she continues, although this period she has us in now could almost seem like a retread of paths she already walked on before they went to Lothlorien. Things keep escalating between Legolas and Glorfindel, and at some time they probably should plateau, plus she'll have to be involved in the psychological changes that will have to occur in the rulers of Imladris because of the shift in relationship. All of those things are difficult and I could look at them and not mind back-burnering them while my mind reconciled all of those different threads. Hopefully she is still thinking about the storyline and eventually will see how the threads of the story will be able to work their way through the current tangle. If so, then I think she will indeed pick it up again. If not, well I've enjoyed every bit of it up to now and regret nothing :-)

So this is super late, but thank you so much! *hugs* I really can't say how much it means to me how generous and supportive people have always been about my exploration of this particular relationship!
