Tough Choices:

If forced to give up one, which would you choose: love, friendship, or family?

If you gave up love then you might give up the love of your family also. so, in effect, you have lost two of them. This is assuming that your family is loving though.

I don't really have any close relatives left around here. My remaining aunts and uncle have (more or less) disowned me; all I have left are distant cousins who have their own lives.

As for "love", I seem to have a talent for finding/attracting losers or guys who want want to cheat either on their partners or on me. I've had more than enough of that. And since I am now too old to have kids, there is no point in marriage. I've had the "evil stepmother" scam played on me more than once; no more, never again. It is simply not worth it.

PS. My parents may have loved me but they certainly didn't like me or have any respect for me. Mom would have loved to have seen me locked up in an institution "for my own good" -- that was her idea of love.

I agree with the poster above. If you give up love you give up family as well. I love my husband and he is family, so no way I can give up on either. Then again I can't imagine giving up friends also so maybe I'll pass this question.

Tought choice indeed. But maybe not so much for people who are single or aren't close to their families but have a huge bunch of great buddies around. Easy on introverts with no friends as well since I know a few and they can't even spell friendship.

I wish I had closer family ties but they just aren't there. I wish they were but it's not going to happen.
