Cinnamon Twists

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 11-ounce can refrigerated breadsticks
shortening or cooking spray
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheet with shortening or cooking spray.
Cut each breadstick in half, crosswise.
In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon together. Evenly cover both sides of each breadstick piece with cinnamon-sugar mixture, then twist the dough into whatever shape you want and place on greased cookie sheet.
Cook for 10-13 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy!

Date: 2011-09-27 04:36 pm (UTC)My godmother used to make cinnamon twists using a similar recipe but she made her own dough. It wasn't a true bread dough, but it wasn't a standard pastry dough either. It was her own special 'blend' of the two and I've never found anything remotely close to it
