3 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 11-ounce can refrigerated breadsticks
shortening or cooking spray

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheet with shortening or cooking spray.

Cut each breadstick in half, crosswise.

In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon together. Evenly cover both sides of each breadstick piece with cinnamon-sugar mixture, then twist the dough into whatever shape you want and place on greased cookie sheet.

Cook for 10-13 minutes or until golden brown.

Enjoy!

I wish we had interesting refrigerated dough products in this country - we only have croissants and pain au chocolate.

I have tried rolling them in sugar/cinnamon mixes but it never tastes good.

Oh, we have dozens of refrigerated dough products here. You name it...

My godmother used to make cinnamon twists using a similar recipe but she made her own dough. It wasn't a true bread dough, but it wasn't a standard pastry dough either. It was her own special 'blend' of the two and I've never found anything remotely close to it
