Date: 2011-09-03 09:38 pm (UTC)Is that the rag and bone man, I wonder? Funnily enough, I thought I had experienced some strange time slip a few months back when I heard the clop of hooves and some-one shouting, and saw a horse and cart with things like old tumble dryers and general stuff like that going past. I've seen it since, too. I think they are travelers and take it to the tip, and can get money.
Yes, I have, as my nan's was a three digit number before it was changed, and sometimes I had to ask for reverse charges when I was younger.
My gramps took me down the farm when I was small, and dipped me milk from the big container where all the milk from the cows went into before it was pumped into churns. It was really rich!

Date: 2011-09-05 04:36 am (UTC)Played PONG on an Atari....? Had a microwave with dials? Owned a Betamax player? No, no, and no - not because I'm not old enough but because we were to poor to dream of having such high tech in the house!
Bought bread and milk on a Sunday morning for less than a pound/one dollar? No because I milked the cow myself and we baked our own bread.
Couldn't choose between the Coreys? Good God no! I chose Keifer. :)
Collect the original Garbage Pail Kids cards? No, I was too old by the time those came out.

Date: 2011-09-07 01:21 am (UTC)Mostly we baked our own bread too -- buying store bread was something of an emergency measure. But the milk did come from the store; we didn't have room for a cow in town. :( We had chickens though.
