News of the Day

All sorts of news today; most of it deals with Irene, and there's nothing I can really add or say since I am so very far inland. As for all of my f-list and their families who are dealing with this, I am thinking about you and praying for you too. It would have seriously affected my cousin Donna(tm) and I think -- make that, *I know* -- a big part of me is still waiting for her to call and tell me about it. :(

It's times like these when I am almost glad that I live where I do. At least I know what to expect, and yes, I am all sorts of prepared. Though here I am more likely to be snowed in during the winter or something like that. So I have lots and lots of emergency supplies laid in (no, I do not consider it to be hoarding behavior either.)


On a lighter note, I finished my AinA fic, so now it is just a matter of waiting. Also, I have decided to take part in a big_bang, so... we shall see what happens with that. Right now I have two very separate but viable ideas, and I hope I can manage to pull at least one of them off.

And now it is time for walkies. My little dog simply will not quit whining until I do, lol!

I always have emergency supplies in, especially food - they were invaluable last winter. My kids used to laugh at me having so much food but at least I was able to eat. Happily, I convinced my daughter to load her food cupboards and freezer before the bad winter set in, so she had food as well. However, my son had lots of meals at my place and I fed his dog lol

It's always good to have food ahead. I'm always watching the sales and updating my pantry list.
