Halloween Blizzard of 1991
Oct. 31st, 2016 10:13 am** 25th-Anniversary of Halloween 1991 Snow Storm **

We've mentioned this anniversary a few times over the past week, but here is a regional snowfall map from the Oct. 30-Nov. 2, 1991 "Halloween Snow Storm" (map courtesy of Midwestern Regional Climate Center). As you can see, our local coverage area of South Central Nebraska/North Central Kansas was right in the heart of heaviest snow axis, most of which fell on Oct. 31st.
Here are just SOME of the official snowfall totals from that storm in our 30-county coverage area (Nebraska sites listed first, then KS):
