Say “Hey there, Sam!” and:
- I’ll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
- Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
- Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.
Her questions (under the cut because as most of you know by now (or if you're new here -- are about to discover), when it comes to my journal, I never use few words when several will do. XD
1. When did you first get into Lord of the Rings?
When I was little, probably 10-12. No later than that though. I was still very serious about LotR when I was in my late teens/early twenties but by then... *SIGH* By then, I was getting "Looks" from people around here, which I ignored until it was Finally Explained To Me that "as an adult", I was "too old" to believe in elves anymore (uh, why exactly? they never had an answer); further, adult women were 'supposed' to like romance movies and girly things -- all of which I failed at then and mostly still fail at now. Combined with the fact that (locally, anyway) only pre-teen boys ever seemed to have any interest in things like LotR, D&D, etc., etc., I admit that I finally caved under the pressure and drifted away from it. Because really, what can a grown woman possibly have in common with young boys? (Other than lustful desires, obviously.) Never entirely though, even if it does seem somewhat recent to most.
2. Stranded on a deserted island and you can only have three luxuries? What are they?
a.) Internet access so I can keep in touch with everyone and keep up with all of the fics. :)
b.) Clothing (that includes at least one bra that fits properly and will never *ever* wear out!) and more than one pair of long-lasting shoes.
c.) A dozen genies to grant me three wishes (for a total of thirty-six wishes, lol), cause I know I'll need 'em. ;)
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you be?
No idea, but it would be someplace on a coast within *easy* driving distance an major airport and a harbor, so I could have easy access to travel.
4. How many animals do you have?
Two indoor-only cats and one barky little dog. I still have hopes of one day getting another horse (but that's not as likely since the cost of feed is prohibitive right now.) I never had such a serious weight problem when I had my horse.
5. What's the one thing you've always wanted to do?
Travel. Unfortunately, now my health is so poor that it's unlikely that I will be able to do so. *Maybe*, but it's very iffy.

Date: 2011-07-18 09:42 am (UTC)Happily, LOTR is viewed as a book more for adults than children here. I was about the same age when I found it and have never desired to read romance novels or chicklit.
Well fitting bras are a staple in my cupboard as well.
