About Today
Feb. 17th, 2010 10:15 pmToday was actually nice and sunny out, so I stayed home and did laundry. I also gave the stove a thorough cleaning so it looks nice and almost new again. Considering how old it must be -- yes, *that* old -- it still is works fine. It was so tempting to go out and run errands but I have things to do here as well. *sighs* Maybe next week, if the weather cooperates a little bit.
I made the incredibly stupid mistake of calling Auntie early this afternoon so I wouldn't have to stop half-way through the laundry, etc. Unfortunately, she couldn't remember that I had called, so she called me back -- twice. >.< Yes. *Twice*. There are some people I don't mind talking to on the phone but Auntie is not one of them, mostly because she is so deaf that any conversation consists of her saying "What did you say? Are you there? Hello??" and me trying to yell over the phone to make her hear me. Do Not Want! My other Auntie is not quite as deaf but still pretty hard of hearing. It seems that so many people who grew up during the Depression of the 1930's didn't mind getting glasses or dentures when needed but a hearing aid? Absolutely Not! ::head desk, head desk, head desk:: I have no idea *why* this is, I really don't. Pride, maybe? Who knows? I only know that I have known way too many people of that generation who could have made life so much easier on themselves and their families buy getting a hearing aid.
I am tired now, so it will be an early night for me.
