Beatles Meme
Feb. 12th, 2010 10:02 pm1. How long have you been a Beatles fan?
Since always, I guess.
2. How did you discover the Beatles?
I don't know anymore. Tv, radio, movies, albums, 45's... you choose: one or all. ;)
3. Which "era" (early, mid or late) do you prefer and why?
I don't have a preference. But I would have loved to have seen the original line up with Stu Sutcliffe and Pete Best when they were playing in Hamburg.
4. Which album(s) is your favourite and why?
"A Hard Day's Night" -- because I love the movie *So Much*!
5. Which album(s) is your least favourite and why?
"Let It Be" -- but only because it's their last one and looking back now, it's very bittersweet. This is not to say that I dislike it or anything.
6. What are your top 10 Beatles songs?
a. A Hard Day's Night
b. Paperback Writer
c. Eleanor Rigby
d. Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite
e. Across The Universe
f. Yesterday
g. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
i. Blackbird
j. Yellow Submarine
7. Are there any Beatles songs you really don't like? Which ones?
8. What are your views on each of the Beatles' films?
A Hard Days Night: WIN! Total WIN! It should be awarded a special Academy Award of it's own, but I'm weird like that when it comes to movies.
Help!: It's fun, but it tries too hard to be AHDN2 to be as good as it should be.
Magical Mystery Tour: It's a lot of fun. Though I haven't seen it in *ages*... I need to try and look it up again.
Yellow Submarine: I love this one. It's just... IDK... one of the very *very* few animated films that I like. Probably because I saw it before Disney films ruined most animation for me.
Let It Be: It's good, but again it's also very sad.
9. Do you have a favourite Beatle? If so, who and why?
Ringo. :) His birthday is the same day of my dad's.
10. What's your favourite solo John song?
"Across The Universe"
11. What's your favourite solo Paul song?
"Eleanor Rigby"
12. What's your favourite solo George song?
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
13. What's your favourite solo Ringo song?
"Yellow Submarine"
14. How do you feel about Yoko?
I don't know. I don't like or dislike her or Linda that much. I do think that once Brian Epstein died (and he really was the center of the wheel, so to speak) it was only a matter of time before the band fell apart. Yoko and Linda just made it happen faster.
15. How do you feel about Beatle slash?
I haven't read any but I know it's out there.
16. How do you feel about John's relationship with Brian?
I don't know. I'm sure that they experimented at some time; it would be much stranger if they hadn't done so. John, Brian, Paul -- yeah, I can see it.
17. Is there more to your love of the Beatles than just their music?
Probably, but it's far too complicated for this meme.
18. Are the Beatles actually the greatest band in the history of music? Are they your favourite?
I think it's a valid argument. I don't have a favorite band though because I don't believe in playing favorites. Let's just say they are in my Top Two.
19. Tell me one unusual/controversial opinion you have on the Beatles.
I can't think of any offhand.
20. Tell me one of your favourite Beatle moments.
The opening credits of "A Hard Day's Night" -- they are so young, still having fun, not tired and stressed out. It's a glimpse of a time that is so 'long ago and far away' that it's hard to believe it ever really *was*.
