Instead of the day being nice and sunny, like yesterday, it was cold and foggy. Even the morning was ok--I got Mom an appointment for the eye dr. tomorrow and another appointment w/the throat specialist for next week. I was feeling rather pleased with my accomplishments, so I should have known things were a bit too good to last. Yeah, you guessed it! So much for my LTS plans! I had to miss the *first* freaking lesson! It would have been alright, I suppose, if Linda hadn't gotten all freaked out about the weather. Of course, she was trying to put up w/"Dear William", yet another loser-whiner grandson. Plus she claimed that her husband Sam was upset about her driving all the way to Kearney in the fog! And this from a man who used to drive truck for a living! So naturaly, she kept up the hue and cry *all fucking morning* until she had Mom all nerved up as well. I should never have asked her to give me a ride, but I wanted my car checked over before trusting it that far! Guess what? Never again will I ask her for another ride... and when I think of all the junkheaps she used to take Mom and I to Omaha in so Mom could see her cancer specalist... GRRRRRR! >:( I was about 80%+ sure that the weather would break long enough at 3pm to allow time to be safe enough togo to Kearney and back by 7-ish, at least. But Linda was too busy freaking... idiotic moron!! When I think of how she drives in all sorts of shitty weather to meet Yodi or Grant or one of the other losers she calls family....
It didn't help that I had to eat lunch at the Black Dog w/the Cousins, which really is always kinda fun (and it ran late too), but when I went to check on Mom, Mom was dressed but I had to (a) put Ruby's mail out, get the old milk Ruby had for the cats and get the extra macaroni salad Ruby wanted to share w/Mom and (b) check on Kathy and (c) see that Mom had something to eat for lunch so she she could take her pills before going to Cousins. Right then I could feel things slipping away. :/ So, I went out to Ruby's only to find the fire dept. there, along w/the police, trying to discover if the roof on the apartment was on fire some place. Ruby was scared to death, but I couldn't stay because I still had to check on Kathy.
So, after checking on Kathy, I got home *just* long enough to see Linda race in, still yammering about the weather. *Then* there was a big fuss about why I hadn't called to see if I could change the LTS time -- "or something." Well, gee--and just when would I have time to do this, w/Linda on the phone blathering away most of the time. By the time I finally called, there was no way to really reschedule, except to hope for a private lesson on Saturday or Sunday. Oh wow. By then, I was in no fit mood to go. Goddamn Linda for being a worthless little bitch! >:0
Then Mom started snipping about how I should just *go, damnit* and stay overnight in Kearney. Another big ruckus w/her (after Linda left, thank gods) mostly about me wanting a "real" job and how I should just leave and "find your Paradise, you thnakless little bitch" and let me say here that I really *really* do hate Mom. At least when she's pulling a major bitchfit like that one! Finally I convinced her I would go on the weekend (please please *please* let it be nice weather!!!!!) s I finally got her to Cousins, even though she was really super-stressed out at the time. She finally came out of it, and I went to have coffee and dessert w/Cousins, so she was in a much better mood by then. Not that I really would have minded, you know, it's just that -- *DAMN!* So now I have to wait and see what the weekend will be like. Did I mention how much I hate it here and how desparately I want to move? So that my plans are not constantly at someone's whim? Gee, I wonder why?
