The Kittens At Home

The vet visit seemed to help a lot but sadly, the littlest one died in the night. :( I feel badly of course, but it wasn't totally unexpected since it was so much smaller and weaker than the other ones. *sigh* I'd basically had to resort to force-feeding it this last week; I think it had given up before then and... maybe I wasn't being fair to it w/the force-feeding but I was hoping... ah well. The others should do ok though. I have few worries about the biggest two but the third? Not sure, but it should start gaining though. They all ate well this morning and are now back in their cage (which was originally designed to hold a German Shepherd, so I feel no guilt keeping them in there) while I continue to clean/sterilize the kitchen, bath and laundry room floors and do a load or two of laundry. They usually have pretty much free run of the kitchen/bathroom but there are times when they are banished to their cage and this is one of them.

I'm so sorry your littlest baby died. That is always so crushing when you've tried so hard to save it. Hopefully the others will be well. Keep up the good work, and don't feel guilty and penning them up when you need to. They are just little animals - everything is new to them.... they have no expectations. You are taking care of them - that's really all they care about.
