Today Is Mom's Birthday

We had fun even if she is in the hospital. Not bad, really. Jesse stopped to say hi but none of the kids or Colleen bothered. Linda made cupcakes and brought them up, along w/Sam, who made a special visit; Maureen G., Dorothy H., Arlene, Ruth and Sharon J. stopped in. Mom got phone calls from Cotty, Kristy B., Lee, Patti and Mick. Plus lots of nice cards.

Today is also the day I finally saw Witt about the Deed of Trust. I took both Jesse and Colleen by suprise; I'm sure that Colleen didn't think I'd do it. In fact, I wonder if she even told Parker about it. No matter--I didn't need her copy of the amortization schedule anyway. And I *know* Jesse wasn't expecting it--I almost felt bad for him. But damn, they haven't paid anything all year--I told him this and asked him to have Colleen try to start paying me from the $400 rent she was getting since May (all cream for her, i'm sure) but *no*. I don't think he even heard me, or if he just thought I was whining about money. But *damn*, it was my money, a legal debt, and I have it coming to me. By rights, the whole rent thing should have gone into an escrow account but didn't... oh well... :(

It's lovely and cool out--such a nice breeze. Mmmmmmmm. I love it when it's like this.

Of course, I *finally* took action re: the DoT issue. I was really hoping, right up until last night--but when Jess started acting so high and mighty, saying he'd done everything on his own--that was it. Period. Heather was right beside him, lapping it all up. I wonder just what game *she's* playing--I have a bad feeling about her--she's up to no good. But it doesn't matter now. Someday I hope Jess is in my spot--maybe then he'll know the pain I feel right now. I felt something break in me last night, like when my cousin Donna crossed that last line and I threw her out of the house for good a few years back.
