Yes, I am still around. I've just been busy trying to shake my usual cold/cough -- and yes, it *is* just a cold/cough. I've been tested. **sigh** But since my cough is nasty; seriously, I sound like I was a 4-pack/day smoker for decades. :/ And yet, I never smoked. Ever. But because of the cough, I've gone back to isolating to avoid freaking people out. (And yeah, I am vaxxed/boosted to the max.)

The days are turning colder now and I still have a lot of sorting/cleaning out to do. I've only been out long enough to snag groceries, get mail and haul the dumpster out once a week. I'm not on fb much since I get very poor signal here, so if I'm posting there, it's because I'm out-of-town as opposed to being home. I'm also still writing but sadly, no beta yet.

My cousin Ellen wants me to visit her in Florida. "We can go to Disney World!" she says. Yeah, no. Nope, nope, a billion times nope! There are few things I despise more than big gatherings of entitled families and their entitled crotch goblins roaming wild in an amusement park. SO... I had to think of something fast, and yay! I thought of the one thing she might consider and hopefully agree to: a pilgrimage to Graceland in Memphis TN (and a quick tour to Nashville as well.) And it looks like I will be visiting TN next summer. ::crosses fingers::

I’m so sorry you’re poorly, there are a lot of things going around that aren’t Covid.
Me and Kev had that 2/3 weeks ago. I think we got it when going for our flu jabs! (We always mask, but no-one else does, which cuts down the viral load you get, but doesn’t stop it) And I tested positive on the day I was supposed to get my booster 🙄

I could see how it would be really bad, but for the jabs. It felt like a massive head cold but without the cold. Could have been much worse though. As it was, just a few days of feeling under the weather.

Graceland sounds a lot better than Disney, I think. It’s the kids really that would put me off too!

I am feeling better now but I truly hate getting that wretched cough. There doesn't seem to be a reason why it is so nasty, it's just my cough. ::shrugs::

I don't really mind kids, it's just that I need to be not overwhelmed by them. And sadly, there are always a few rotten apples that manage to spoil things for me.

Yeah, it's a really weird cough that just seems to hold on for way too long. It's been that way my whole life though, so I've learned to live with it.

I guess we're in the "entitled" class, because we went to Disney World quite a bit as our daughter was growing up. We had to save up for it, but it was our one big splurge each year and we enjoyed ourselves very much (and never allowed Dink to run wild).

I hope your cold gets better soon. I occasionally get colds that turn into bronchitis and it's absolute misery. *hugs*

My parents were not fans of going anywhere, period. Maybe the county fair or rodeo and once in awhile the state fair. Although I was lucky enough to visit Disneyland back in '68, when I went with my grandma to visit relatives. But that was a very rare exception. Alas, no Ducks at that time either.

You were very lucky to be able to actually have vacations and I'm sure that you were one of the genuinely nice families. But it only takes one rotten apple to spoil the entire barrel, y'know. After getting a mega-drink spilled down my back, my sandwich stolen, pulled hair and several attempts to grab my bags, I had it. No more mega-parks for me! :(

I must admit to a great love of amusement parks, including DisneyWorld, but I do know it's not everyone's cup of tea. Going to Nashville sounds like it could be fun too, though.

Amusement parks are not for me. Ugh! A NHL game though, yeah bring it on!

I am currently saving my pennies so I can go to the SCF, just as soon as the Avs-Wings meet "some year". Maybe not this year or the next, but soon please. Make it so! I'm planning for seats on the glass because oh yeah! 8D

You absolutely deserve rink-level seats for a Wings-Avs game (or any other game you think worthwhile). When I had North Stars season tickets we were in the first bank, but not at rink level. I did get a couple of seats in Row 3 for a game or two - gifts from a friend. It's amazing how much faster the game seems when you're at eye-level with the forwards, wings and defense-men.
