I just adore this movie! Can I just add that as much as I admire Disney in many ways (and yes, even though their films often get Oscar nods *and* wins) I am so thankful they did not get their hands on this one!

The main song from the film. Beautiful. (And if I ever happen to visit you, please don't play it for me unless you want to see me dissolve into a puddle of tears. Yes, really.)

I've actually never seen this one...

I hope you can find it -- it's lovely.

I love this movie. It will forever annoy me that the company who released it on DVD censored one line to keep the G rating.

Really? I didn't know that -- how strange. *sighs* I suppose they felt compelled by the higher-ups -- I wonder if there is an uncut or unrated version anywhere. There certainly seem to be enough *ahem* other films that get re-released as uncut/unrated. (Seriously, sometimes I worry that they will bring back a new version of the Hays Code. Now there's a scary thought!)

Yeah. It's the line where Molly says, “Where have you been? Damn you, where have you been?” They removed the "damn you." However-- and this surprised me for an animated movie-- it's still easy to lip-read. (Or maybe it was easy because I know what the line is.)

The VHS tape my sister and I had as kids was uncut, so if you could find it anywhere (and have the ability to play it), that's your best bet.

Now I have to re-watch it because I am curious about what they may or may not have done with the harpy scenes. Heh.

This is one I never saw as a child. I eventually rented it and now I do own the DVD. But as a child, I only ever read the book which is now falling apart.

I loved the book and I was lucky enough to see it in the theatre when it came out. I'm not sure if I ever had the vhs though -- lots of stuff got lost in moves.

My kids watched that movie over and over.

I'm glad to know that other kids liked it too.
