About Horror Films

This got started by me hearing about the movie "Snakes On A Plane." It sounds almost good enough to go and see. Not sure if I will or not; some things I'm just not up for. Like snakes. I can take snakes on an individual scale but en masse is something else again. And the damned commercials for "Scary Movie 4" are pissing me off bigtime. No more gay cowboy jokes *please*! ::sigh:: The ESPYs were bad enough w/good ol' Lance and his idiotic jokes -- just when you think there aren't any more to be made, they come up w/something. I wish Heath had been there to punch him for saying that shit, though I'm sure that Jake could, if he had been pushed. Sometimes he's just too nice. At the same time, it's the nice guys who never seem to get mad in public that worry me. The darkness has to be there, y'know.

Where was I? Oh yeah, horror films. So, all of the movies that scared me when I was a kid didn't show a lot of blood and gore, they left a lot to the imagination. Like "Psycho". You never see the knife actually go in -- it's all done w/camera angles. That movie scared me for years. Now, all I see in horror movies are, well, just... really gross shit and all. I'd prefer not to see a "how to carve up people" class on film, thank you very much. To be honest, the new films just bore me. I've seriously thought of taking a bag of Keebler's to one of 'em and then tossing 'em at the screen. I'd probably get in trouble for that though. Damn.

What does scare me, you may ask? It's reality that scares me and gives me nightmares.
