Date: 2014-09-07 01:39 pm (UTC)To write: Yes, there are quite a few things I won't write but it's too complicated to explain here. Let's just say if it hits a certain 'ewww' nerve or major squick for me, I won't write it.
To read: That would be most bad (aka poor, shoddy) writing, especially by Certain Published Authors Who Shall Remain Nameless.
AJ. Talk about a review that made your day.
Any and all reviews make my day! :) I prefer good ones of course but if it's concrit that points out a major flaw, that's ok too. (I try to respond to every one too.) As for flames and trolls, I just ignore them.

Date: 2014-09-07 01:48 pm (UTC)I'd really love to write a true epic, with multi-chapters -- and books -- in it. Sadly though, I don't seem to be capable of that level of world-building.
P. Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
I almost always write out of order. I usually start with a snippet of something and then I have to figure out what came before and after. Once in awhile I am lucky enough to "see" it laid out in whole but that's pretty rare.

Date: 2014-09-07 02:13 pm (UTC)I don't know that I have a typical fic -- I leave that to my readers. However, I know that there are certain things I do tend to put in my writings. These often include: cats and dogs (and other furred, feathered and finned beings), nods to certain special books and movies that have had a profound influence on me -- and there is often an element of the absurd as well, for if there is one thing I have learned, it is that life is very often absurd. ;)
R. Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement. Do you have a muse?
I seem to have several muses (musii ?) that often come and go as they please. I *think* they live in my spare bedroom; however, when I open the door to look for them, I find they have cleverly disguised it as a junk room. *sighs* Ah well...

Date: 2014-09-07 03:21 pm (UTC)Strength: Being able to find/research background material for whatever I'm working on.
F. Share one of your weaknesses.
Weakness: Finding enough "quiet time" to write more than a sentence or two. (The fact that I am extremely slow writer attests to this.)

Date: 2014-09-07 04:57 pm (UTC)I hear you on the weakness. I'm not short of quiet time, but I AM a very slow writer.

It depends on how well I can 'hear and see' a character, something that can be quite iffy. Some characters are very clear to me (and thus easy to write) while others I can only catch glimpses of. Then again, some characters just go quiet for no apparent reason -- perhaps to let another step forward? I never seem to know until I start writing.

Date: 2014-09-09 06:23 pm (UTC)Several things: knowledge of the fandom I'm writing in, good grammar skills (I am the first to admit my grammar is not always the best), help with lots of little fiddly things. But probably most of all, one who is patient enough to deal with multiple rewrites.
K. Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?
Definitely my passion! :)
