Snagged from my flist: Go to your iPhone, iPod, iWhatsit or whatever it is the cool kids use to store their music. Then pull up the list of songs and set it to shuffle.

List the first 10 or so. Do, please. I'm really curious.

Here we go:

1. Blue Nose -- Houghton Weavers (I have a definite love for sea and sailing songs.)

2. Even Angels Fall -- Jessica Riddle (This is here because it's on the soundtrack from "10 Things"... ::sniffles::)

3. Little Wing -- Jimi Hendrix (When I was much, *much* younger, I hoped to be able to play this through -- just once.)

4. Who Knows Where The Time Goes -- Sandy Denny (One of the most perfect voices *ever*, and one that was gone far too soon!)

5. Follow That Dream -- Elvis Presley (Maybe not one of his greatest but it's still a lot of fun. :)

6. Jumpin' Jack Flash -- Rolling Stones (Back in the day, they were f'n amazing. No, I never saw them live in concert.)

7. While My Guitar Gently Weeps -- The Beatles (I would do anything if I could only see them live in concert. And again, no, I do not bother trying to see Paul in concert.)

8. A Rush and A Push and the Land Is Ours -- The Smiths (When I was asked what I listened to in the 80's, I answered "The Smiths" and was met by blank looks. *le sigh*)

9. Love Has Brought Me To Despair -- Sam Gleaves (I adore folk songs; I have ever since I was a kid.)

10. The Highwayman -- Phil Ochs (I am aware that Loreena McKennitt has a version of this as well but I heard Phil's first.)

11. On The Wings -- Elijah Bossenbroek (This is just really pretty. And a surprise -- I thought if anything classical showed up, it would be Mozart.)

12/12A. Working Class Hero/Why d'Ya Do It? -- Marianne Faithfull (Ah, Marianne -- you are singing my life here. And be warned: the lyrics for the second are *explicit* and definitely NSFW!)

14. Tam Lin -- Fairport Convention (Again, I rediscovered this while looking through fanvids.)

15. Starships -- Nicki Minaj (This would not be here if not for the fanvid.)

Interesting. I've been looking up the ones you listed; well all but but Tom Petty and Neil Diamond. Petty is really good; I've liked him for years though I don't follow him that much. Diamond is like... meh, oh well. (My cousin E.adores him though.)

I have a very strong Sixties vibe going here don't I? And interestingly, a lot of women singers as soloists showed up, which pleases me no end. :)

Elvis was an amazing singer. (It's just too bad his manager was more interested in Elvis' ability to make mega-$ than he was in really furthering Elvis' career.)

My mom is a big fan of Elvis so I grew up with him. I think I saw most of his movies as well :) When my father passed away, we had 'Love me Tender' played during his funeral service. A very simple song but it tells you so much about how much those two loved each other.
