News of the Day

Hmmmm, so what is new? Well, it's windy but not as cold as it was -- but it is windy. Yuck.
My Cousin Donna(tm) called last night and yakked for awhile. Seems that her mom is *finally* in a nursing home and (her mom) is depressed now. ::eyeroll:: Y'know, I'm sorry for her but I really do not give a damn. If that makes me seem like a cold bitch, then I'm sorry. But I have spent a lifetime tied down with caregiving and when Donna decides to whine about things, I just get tired. To say nothing of her using up my phone minutes! Grrrrr! See, if she would only get a computer, it wouldn't matter. [I spend extra on my computer because I deal primarily w/ email and other things -- we all know what that might be right? Right. ;)] And to make things even better, she is telling me how she has started studying Scientology because "so many cool Hollywood people believe it, it must be true." >>.<< Brain hurts....
So today I am debating what to do because I'd like to see a movie but I won't (tempting as it is), mostly because I am hoping that 'Slumdog Millionaire' might turn up locally and I want to be ready if it does. I also need to get some groceries and other good stuff and I should do it today. The cats have scarfed down every last bit of dry food, and it is far easier (and cheaper!!) to get a couple of big bags in Hastings. Otoh, when I am in the house, then I am not spending money -- which is a good thing, right?
I actually did some writing last night. Not much but some, and that always makes me feel a little better. I might even do a little more and get something finished. We shall see.
Sent an e-card to Char because it is her b'day tomorrow.
Back later on.
