la_samtyrWell, as usual nothing much -- and yet everything -- seems to happen. It rained big time last night, just *poured* down. Lots of interesting thunder and lightning too but no bad storms.
Sunday I went to see the TDK trailer, which just... WOW. Go see "Iron Man" or almost any other movie so you can see that trailer ok? It is made of Awesome and it F'N ROCKS!!!!!!

The movie theatres are beginning to realise that they have a definite weirdo around because the manager just looked at me when I asked for a ticket to see "whatever movie is showing the new 'Batman' trailer." [Poor kid, I felt kinda sorry for her.] I then was busily texting a critique of the TDK posters in the lobby to a friend, pausing long enough to tell the manager that I hoped she had a chance to see the international posters for TDK because they were much cooler than the US posters. She gave me an odd look and smile and went back to doing... whatever I guess. It wasn't till I walked out after the trailer, and before the movie even started that she seemed to be a bit uneasy. I guess most people actually go to see the movies and not the trailer (which I admit, I usually do as well) but in this case I was sitting in the lobby, yakking on my cell phone discussing the TDK trailer... Um yes, you could say I am just a tad bit *focussed* on a certain movie. Again, the manager stopped and asked (1) if I was alright and (2) that the movie was ready to start. I smiled and thanked her, said I was fine and that yes, I had heard that IM was an excellent movie and promptly went back to my cell phone conversation. About this time the manager and all of the other people running the place are looking at me like worried puppies but since I'm not doing anything wrong and I have a ticket, they can't actually do or say anything. Heh.
{Oh yes, I just learned that Amazon shipped "I'm Not There" today so I should be getting that *any day now*!}
Afterwards, I went to see if there were any big sacks of cat food in at KMt yet. No luck w/the kibble but I did run into Becky and Mike W., along w/their daughter Nikki and her son (Adam? Not sure, just can't remember what the kids name is, sorry). Ended up yakking quite a bit, mostly about the house and oh, just *everything*. Way too long to even try and go into detail here, it's one of those things where you would have had to grow up /live here for most of your life to understand because in order to explain, I'd have to go back to "in the beginning...", y'know? [Suffice it to say I bitched about the mayor(s) and lack of anything happening here and how the town will probably not even exist in a few more years... yadda yadda.] Long story short, Nikki's boyfriend Matt is mowing lawns and so I hired him to take care of the yard at 523. *Much* simpler all the way around, yeah? It's a good thing too because I got a call from Witt's office this morning that the City (of Hastings, this time) was concerned about how long the grass was getting, and I was able to truthfully say that I had someone hired and they would be mowing just as soon as the grass was dry enough -- probably by the weekend, if we don't get any more rain.
One thing I did buy while at KMt. were some lovely striped socks, so that now every Tuesday and certain other days, I will always have something striped to wear. I need to go back and see if I can snag a few more pair, just in case.
I also did a little more job hunting but didn't have much luck. *sigh* I am now down to a half-tank of gas to last until who knows when.
No other news for now, probably back later on.
