Watching Olympic Men's Hockey

Well, I was anyway. I think the fucking linesman just handed the win to Finland by giving Hatcher a major? double minor? penalty. Shit. Already down by 2, and the Finns are a genuinely good team. Maybe I'll try and get a Team Finland shirt over on eBay and see if my usual jinxy luck holds. Can't hurt at this point, so what the hell. Back later.

More Bad Olympic News

Now Canadian men's hockey team is out! ::boggles:: I can hardly believe it! And by Team Russia, at that! Well, that isn't surprising but you know -- still. ::boggles more:: I mean, to be shut out?!? They won't even make the medal round! (Of course, neither will Team USA, obviously.) *SIGH* I wasn't totally surprised by Team USA, because I thought they should go w/younger players, though Cheli was great. I might not like him very much but I sure do respect his committment to nutrition and conditioning. Kinda surprising, since I am a born-again couch potato but there it is. They also got there late because of the blizzard, which didn't help. But for Canada... I'm sure the whole Gretzky thing played a part in it and it just broke my heart to see him leave like he did. That had to hurt. :( Ok, I'm off now 'cause I am *way* too depressed. Later!
