From Writer's Block

A literary masterpiece:

Which books will you certainly read to your children, nieces, nephews or godchildren?

It's kind of a moot point now since I don't have kids and never will but if I had, I would have read them Shakespeare, Milton -- all of the classics, the same ones my mom read to me.

I read classic fairytales (like The Three Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood, etc.) to my kids when they were little, from the time they were able to sit up, pretty much. By the time they were able to understand anything deeper, they were reading voraciously on their own. (and now I'm going broke trying to keep elfling2 in books to read.(elfling1 does his reading of anime online) lol)

I think that's great you read to your kids -- it's very cool. :)

I read somewhere that if you want your kids to be readers, you have to read to them early, and lead by example. We used to have reading time before bed every night - I could almost recite The Three Little Pigs from memory. *g* (It was a favourite)
