Very cool!

The only problem I'd see with that alcove as it is, is the lighting (those deep walls, moreover with such a dark wallpaper, must eat a lot of light) - but probably there are some LED spots in there that I just don't see.

I agree -- the dark wallpaper is a poor choice, but the rest of it is perfect. :)
