And, if you should come upon this spot, please do not hurry on. Wait for a time, exactly under the star. Then, if a little man appears who laughs, who has golden hair and who refuses to answer questions, you will know who he is. If this should happen, please comfort me. Send me word that he has come back.

Under the cut, since so many of us are, shall I say, ambivalent about this movie?

Heath would have been thirty today.

Someday I plan to make a vid of him using this song.

First of all, Heath *won*! [But then, you expected to read that here, didn't you?] I have to admit I was terrified he'd be robbed again, like he was three years ago. [Of course, I always believed he should have been nominated for his role as 'Sonny' in "Monster's Ball" but then I'm known to be weird like that.]

I went to see "Slumdog Millionaire" today and it was great. Very different from what I usually see, but then very few films that are so non-US/European in "theme" (and I am using that term *very* loosely) are shown here at all. But it was good, and I enjoyed it. The theatre was probably a little less than half full, but still fuller than most of the Sunday matinees I've gone to recently have been; then again, it was very nice out, not really warm but sunny even if the wind was sharp. Most people liked it, though they were surprised at the violence. Maybe they expected to it be somewhat non-violent? I don't know. I tried to avoid all spoilers regarding it, so I didn't know what to expect.

On a side note, the trailers were not too impressive. The only one that looked decent was "Wolverine" but that was about it.

I was thinking how much Heath reminds me of Montgomery Clift. This is the result.

Just got done watching "Candy" and as usual my heart is hurting bad after watching it. ::sniffles:: Heath is so great, it's so damned unfair that he's not here...

Nothing much else new around here, except the Chicago cousins will be showing up tomorrow to visit me and auntie and uncle. Hopefully they will want to go out to eat and I can mooch a nice meal off them. I am so tired of cooking for just myself and the furkids!

I should go to bed, I am damned tired.

It seems to be that sort of day.

I've been trying to find this quote for a *long* time and hopefully someone can help me find it.

I'm not sure who said this but I'm thinking it was an actor who worked with JD on one of his films. The gist of it was this: JD made everyone else try that much harder, he challenged them as actors. When he died, Brando and a lot of his contemporaries weren't *quite* as good as they had been, they were still good but they had an element of laziness in their work because they knew there was no one to challenge them anymore.

And I see Heath in the same way: He was a challenger (for lack of a better term.) He made everyone around him elevate their game, kept them on their toes and wouldn't let them be lazy. Just that grin, and a wink and a nod that said "ok, let's rock and roll, come on now" but deep down you knew he meant it, he wasn't kidding around but it wasn't mean-spirited, it was that he seemed to know just what his colleagues were capable of and he wanted to see them get there.

Ok, I'm probably being stupid again -- my apolgies.

It's about time! I've been waiting to see this, and despite me glomming on to every scrap of info available, I've cut back now. I'm hardly spoiler-free but now I just want to... anticipate as much as I can, I guess. It sucks that I'll be seeing this 'alone'.

Just a few more days now...

And OH GOD how I wish he was here! It's not right, it just is not right. :(

Someone please direct me to the nearest time machine.

Because this deals with issues in the Brokeback fandom, I'm putting it under a cut. Read if you want, or not. I know some people are probably sick of my ties to this topic, and I'm sorry about that. A lot of this deals with my personal life, which you might want to skip as well. Lots of rambling, too. Again, sorry.

This is my clumsy attempt at a tribute.
